The store manager that I was employed under was not a kind man. He was less than 2 years from retirement and thus spent a great deal of the day not actively working.

I would maintain the photo machine to print peoples photos. If I was not doing that, I was stocking the shelfs with product in empty spaces and moving truck when it arrived.
Pros
enough time to eat food/relax for the small duration

PHOTO SPECIALIST (Current Employee) –  Troy, ALJanuary 25, 2018
Walgreens is a very laid back place to work at, but there are also times where it can be very stressful. All in all its a relatively easy job, great for a student in college.

Photo Position Review as of 2010
Photo Specialist/Cashier (PT) (Former Employee) –  Biloxi, MSJanuary 14, 2018
Job required employee to spend 3 hours and 45 minutes of shift giving all employees lunches and breaks (including myself) and you had to stay in your zone while giving others breaks. Management often had to cover for me in photo which wasn't a desirable outcome on their end, but it couldn't be helped due to the structured nature of the position duties. Photo clerk was the manager's right-hand person for special projects & stocking. The job also entailed maintaining to freezers and coolers.

I enjoyed interaction with my customers
Photo Specialist/sales/stock (Current Employee) –  Las Vegas, NVJanuary 10, 2018
Working at Walgreens was a great experience for customer service. I was a photo specialist, stock boy, cashier, and all around store operations staff. It was nice to help customer's and learn how to become a photo specialist developing photos. Stocking merchandise can be cumbersome but it's part of the job. Being a cashier kept you on your toes, and helped you interact with the customers. Great experience.
Pros
Discount items.
Cons
No human resources

I loved working at Walgreens! All of the managers are so great, easily approachable and responsive. The scheduling is fairly flexible, but the pay wasn't great.

Alright If your starting out or if your old
Photo Specialist and Cooler/Freezer Bay Owner (Current Employee) –  Lufkin, TXJanuary 8, 2018
As a person who mainly works in photo, its pretty calm for most days, if your young they tend to schedule you more and have you do more tasks becase in my case most other workers tend to be older frailer women and thats understandable. some days especially near busy holidays it gets real busy and you feel like all the time you need to do imortant tasks get taken up by "unappreciateive" but most of the time it's fine. if your coaperative and not a jerk you'll go far.
Pros
pretty calm most of the time, nice place to work, good bennifits
Cons
bad customers, and some scheduleing problems

Need excellent customer service skills to work in this retail market
Hardest part of job is unloading truck, yet no other gym membership is needed. The job is as fun as you and the other employees make it.

Love my Job, Hate the Environment
Photo Specialist (Current Employee) –  Harrison, ARDecember 24, 2017
The job itself is very satisfying, but unbearably stressful around certain times of the year with little to no help from co-workers or management in some cases.

You have to remember that the Pharmacy has people's lives in their hands, but in photo you have their memories & for many customers you'll be handling their only image of a loved one.

In addition to taking care of your customers you'll also need to take care of the grocery & paper departments. This includes, but is not limited to, checking for out-of-date items, ordering things you're running low on, checking counts on items you have too many of.

You'll also need to give breaks & lunches to people in the other departments. Which gives you less time to get your tasks done, but management doesn't care because to them there are no excuses.

Usually you'll work as a team & if you're lucky you'll find a store that feels like family or will find a co-workers who makes your day better.
Pros
discount, insurance, earn Paid Time Off
Cons
stressful environment, under appreciated by management

Only thing that place has going for it but you must bust your butt to get it or your efforts will go unnoticed. Management needs to be improved tho. Just from my experience.
Pros
Easy work
Cons
A lot to do not enough time
