Nurses work mostly independently at UZ Leuven. In the morning you are assigned an average of 10 patients. You are in charge of all nurse care. This includes administer medication, take vitals, blood draws, hygiene, IV medication, admitting new patients , wound care, record all care , collaborate with doctors and other health care providers and more. - more ...
I had 2 to 3 co-workers every shift. In the mornings the head nurse would be there too to supervise the work I worked morning or evening shifts, which were 8 hours long. I worked 10 days and had 4 days off.
