I'm glad to be working for this company as I felt that I am looking forward to everyday working. To add on,the nice colleagues and the work are manageable everyday when I was working part time.Everything was nice and often they would have a party for Fridays, where it is a day to end the week.I felt that this is something to boost the employee's morale to continue working.
Banquet Server (Former Employee) – Esplanade – April 9, 2018
We would walk around preparing to get all the required utensils and proper table setting done. As such i learnt the way the work must be done and what procedures i have to adhere to. The manager was a kind person who would go through a lot of trouble to help us when we needed him and when the customer had called for his presence. I met a lot of people who were about the same age as me who were able to communicate with me without any constraints. The hard part was when the customers would talk to me about anything as i was busy preparing for the next round of food. However it was enjoyable as I was able to learn about different people and their lifestyles.

The task given to me as A part time captain was challenging as i was in-charge of half the ballroom where i have to over look over 20staffs making sure everything us going in order . But the biggest issue was the guest as the guest paid quite a huge amount for the hotel so we have to provide our besg service that we can ever give. And usually working in W-hotel we were 12hours a day which is from 4pm to 4am in the morning is long working hours but it have mentally prep me for the future work life just like cetris cisco

Working with Starwood have taught me to be focus with achieving sales target. I learned how to handle different types of callers as well as difficult customers on the phone, making reservations for customers in both Asia and Australia and communicating effectively with hotel reservations department.
The hardest part of the job for me sometimes is achieving sales target. There is always coaching sessions to help improve on our sales techniques and colleagues are very supportive and helpful. It is a positive work environment. Managers and colleagues work alongside each there which makes communication easier.
