Watch your back
Customer Service Associate (Former Employee) –  Geneva, NYOctober 23, 2018
If the store manager does not personally like you, he will find a reason to get rid of you. Regardless of your job performance. The store employees are generally good to work with. Poor Senior Management.

Not a good place to work
Cashier (Former Employee) –  Alamogordo, NMOctober 23, 2018
Management doesn't have your back customers come first even if they are wrong or rude. Never enough help on weekends. Staff isn't trained just given enough training to fill a position. Information and changes are not given out if employee is off. No communication at all unless big boss are coming in. Benefits for part time is horrible. They don't cover what they are suppose to cost more to use it than just paying it out of pocket.
Pros
none
Cons
management only care about bottom line

Customer Service Cashier (Former Employee) –  Tulare, CAOctober 23, 2018
It was a lot of issues dealing with the managers and a lot of favoritism. good place to work part-time but not full-time. Hard to move up unless your one of the favorites.

Poor work life balance
Store Manager (Former Employee) –  Philadelphia, PAOctober 23, 2018
Great money, poor work life balance. Inconsistent leadership and standards from market to market. As the company streamlines, corporate execs. who are being phased out are being slotted into field positions such as District Managers thereby lessening the positions for those that have been in the field. Lack of upward mobility for field leadership.
Pros
Big Salary
Cons
Poor work/life balance and lack of upward mobility

Overnight Laborer (Current Employee) –  Fairfax, VAOctober 23, 2018
It was and currently is a good experience however the overnight crew I work with is poorly staffed and over worked. Everyone gets along for the most part, some people are lazy and some are not but that's what you get everywhere.
Pros
1 hour lunch break, good benefits, relaxed but fast paced.
Cons
cant leave during breaks

Sales Specialist (Former Employee) –  Fort Worth, TXOctober 23, 2018
Working at Lowes was a wonderful experience. Not only were the benefits great, they have a good 401k company match program. I often regret leaving the company after 10 years.

Working at Lowe's
Money Room Clerk (Current Employee) –  2501 Sheila lane, Richmond Va. 23225October 22, 2018
The company has change so much that it's not for people over 40 anymore. They hire young people who don't want to work. Scheduling is terrible. We now have a new CEO that 's making changes, to better improve the company, with less people but more responsibility and less hours in doing your job, to be on the sales floor assisting customer's.
Pros
If retail is your thing, then Lowe's is the place to work if you are a people person.
Cons
Stressful, Demanding, Poor communication, Unprofessional Managers

There is not enough employees to do your job. Your schedule will be changed without given any notice. I am part time, but my schedule will be changed without telling me.

CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CASHIER (Former Employee) –  Calgary, ABOctober 22, 2018
When its spring/summer, it is extremley busy and the lines are crazy. They either have not enought people on the job or too many people. During the winter, it gets really boring and slow, and youre just standing around. If your working in customer service, be prepared to be yelled at and deal with angry customers waiting for their product.

Customer Service Associate (Current Employee) –  Norfolk, VAOctober 22, 2018
Paint department days vary to fast paced to routine merchandising and doing light custodial at desk. Talk to customers give recommendations for their various needs. Supply as much information as possible as guided by available tools such as in store website and the internet. The hardest part of the job is to avail yourself to all customers. The most enjoyable part of the job is knowing the customer is satisfied and understands everything they need they have for their project.
Pros
Friendly work enviroment, knowledgable staff, helpful co-workers
Cons
Hourly sometimes does not align with cost of living

Lowes
Shipping and Receiving (Former Employee) –  Garysburg, NCOctober 22, 2018
The job should defiantly pay more than it does. The hard work and labor you put it should start at a $12.00 hr rate I say up to $15.00 hr. It's a lot of drama in the plant and their over time rules are unfair.

Decent Temporary / Summer Job
Customer Service Associate (Former Employee) –  Oshawa, ONOctober 22, 2018
Work at Lowes is interesting and meaningful depending on the department you are placed in. Some departments have more tasks to do which keep you busy or not. If you are experienced in a certain are you may be placed in an department that aligns with your knowledge, but is not necessarily.

A good job for student in the summer. Hard work and working with customers is usually fun and easy.
Pros
You can find good deals easily, customer interaction
Cons
Can become highly repetitive
