Senior Associate (Former Employee) –  SingaporeOctober 26, 2019
I worked with many great people but many leave after a few years. Projects can be hit or miss but the good ones really helped me learn a lot and take on bigger responsibilities. Overall, a decent place to start a career.

Salary and benefits should be increased to compensate the employee's efforts
Audit Assistant Manager (Former Employee) –  SingaporeOctober 23, 2019
Salary and benefits should be increased to compensate the employee's efforts as all employees really put on a lot of time and efforts to complete all the projects.

Fun workplace. Especially with the personnel department.
Receptionist (Former Employee) –  Raffles Quay SingaporeSeptember 7, 2019
It was fun and exciting working there. Majority of the secretaries were helpful & fun to work with. Have learned quite a lot from there.

The auditors were friendly as well. Due to further advancement, have to leave the job. Anyway, still enjoy frontline jobs till now. Love meeting people and learn new stuff if possible.

Last but not least, KPMG is a great place to work in.

Steep learning curve
Audit Senior (Former Employee) –  Raffles PlaceMay 16, 2019
Workplace culture:
Plenty of growth opportunities, much training provided, but on the job you're almost thrown into the deep end of the pool. Form good relationships so you have people to turn to for help. Very young workforce, almost everybody is fresh out of university, managers are mostly within 10 years age difference.

Nature of job:
Prepare to slog your guts out during peak audit season. The nature of the job itself is demanding. You are expected to know your stuff or do research. Hot desking can be a boon or a bane. You bring your office supplies everywhere with you, which can be a burden on short engagements. Flexi-hours, meaning your supposed 9-6pm job can stretch to 10pm and later.

Overall:
Great stepping stone for fresh grads. If you're not into auditing, don't stay too long.
Pros
Many learning opportunities
Cons
Very long hours

Toxic culture in Tax
Senior associate (Former Employee) –  CBDMay 5, 2019
I was from the Corporate Tax Planning and Compliance department, where I worked for approx 4 years.

Management is entrenched and blissfully unaware of sentiment on the ground. They favour staff who go out of their way to bootlick, and overlook how these staff will push their actual work to other staff members who are already overworked and under-appreciated. The key issue with the management is that the few who are aware of the extremely toxic culture do not make any attempt to stop it.

Staff are divided into two camps - the bootlickers and the non-bootlickers. The former group will go out of their way to curry favour with management, and as a result have a lot of influence during day to day work and the appraisal process. The latter group will be dumped with significantly more work, yet get rated poorly by the management simply because they do not try to suck up.

Staff turnover has been overwhelming high in the past three years. More than half the department is new. Experienced staff leave simply because their hard work (working ot past midnight almost everyday and being expected to come back to office on weekends) is not appreciated, and the toxic culture makes it unbearable. This is not the place for you unless you can withstand being manipulative, throwing your friends under the bus, and forsaking your morals for the sake of your career.
Pros
Wide exposure
Cons
Toxic culture, vicious cliques in the office, indifferent management

Extremely long hours due to staff shortage
Senior Associate (Former Employee) –  SingaporeNovember 20, 2018
Management seems incompetent to deal with staff shortage issue. Junior staffs work extremely long hours, and morale is not that good. Experience varies depending on the specific project manager.

Nice people, ok projects
Assistant Manager (Former Employee) –  SingaporeNovember 20, 2018
Culture: People are generally nice and collaborative. Work life balance is generally observed.
Work: Work can get boring after sometime given the advisory nature. Sometimes management push for projects that expand the team capabilities but generally very hard to deliver

Good company culture and opportunities to learn
Associate (Former Employee) –  RafflesOctober 16, 2018
I have learnt many skills and have been sent on a lot of training during my time. I have been given opportunities to try new things and participate in large projects.

Work-life balance varies project to project, and some projects can have really bad working hours.

Flexible working hours are given, however, this works both positively and negatively. May have to work Saturdays or Sundays depending on project.

Events Executive (Current Employee) –  Central Business DistrictSeptember 11, 2018
There was never a day without little work, and have adopted a never-say-die attitude. Working in a team, I have learned how important teamwork can be and it brings the best out of me when I least expect myself to be at difficult times. With multiple events running concurrently, it enabled me to better manage my time. What really keeps me going, it's 100% the people around me.
Pros
Colleagues are friendly and able to work well with
Cons
Expect long hours closer to event date
